Department of Zoology
Department of Zoology was established in 1964 and nurtured under the able guidance of Prof. J.P. Gupta and Prof. V.K. Aggarwal. Prof. J.P. Gupta served the department till 30th Nov. 2002. After him Prof. V.K. Aggrawal became the head of the deptt. Unfortunately the college suffered the loss of an intellectual professor , who was efficient in teaching and had a good command on his subject, by his demise after a prolonged illness. Afterwards Dr. Vandana Kalra took over the charge of deptt. of Zoology as HOD and made innovative endeavours to inculcate scientific aptitude and keen inquisitiveness in the students. The Deparment of Zoology is committed to inculcate high moral values among students and enhance awareness towards Nature and Biodiversity for establishment of green and peaceful environment.

OBJECTIVE OF DEPARTMENT
This department provides a comprehensive study of Biodiversity of fauna, Field studies and excursions (National Zoo, Fish breeding Center and IPM).The vision of department is to develop scientific and technical skill of the students in Animal sciences as such to produce expert’s service in Animal Taxonomy, Ecology and biodiversity characterization, field of Zoological Survey, Farm management, Biotechnology, Environmental Management etc.
